Micron and SanDisk led a sharp semiconductor selloff that hammered SOXL and boosted SOXS as AI and memory-stock momentum suddenly reversed.

Leveraged semiconductor ETFs swung wildly on Tuesday after a sharp selloff in chip and memory stocks, including SanDisk Corp. (NASDAQ:SNDK) and Micron Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) rattled one of Wall Street's hottest AI trades, sending the bullish Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X ETF (NYSE:SOXL) sharply lower while boosting bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bear 3X Shares (NYSE:SOXS).

The rout began after a senior South Korean official floated a proposal to redistribute artificial-intelligence profits from memory giants Samsung Electronics Co. and SK Hynix Inc. directly to citizens — a political headline that rapidly triggered a global repricing across semiconductor and AI-linked names.

The selloff was especially severe in memory-related names that had recently surged amid AI enthusiasm. Roundhill Memory ETF (BATS:DRAM) plunged 8.5% after rallying 50% in just a month.

Individual chip stocks also cratered. SanDisk fell more than 11%, while Micron slid over 10%. Western Digital Corp. (NASDAQ:WDC), Seagate Technology Holdings PLC (NASDAQ:STX) and Qualcomm Inc (NASDAQ:QCOM) also posted sharp losses.

Leveraged Semiconductor ETFs Magnify Volatility

The broader chip sector came under intense pressure, with the iShares Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ:SOXX) down 4.8%.

That amplified losses in leveraged ETFs tracking the sector, with SOXL — which seeks to deliver three times the daily performance of semiconductor stocks — facing a steep 20% decline intraday. Meanwhile, traders rotated into SOXS, the inverse leveraged ETF designed to benefit from falling semiconductor shares, which shot up 20%.

Tuesday's dramatic reversal underscored the risks tied to leveraged semiconductor ETFs during periods of elevated volatility.

Because products like SOXL and SOXS reset daily and seek to magnify moves by three times, sudden sector swings can rapidly intensify both gains and losses. After months of relentless AI-driven momentum, the semiconductor selloff highlighted how quickly crowded trades can unwind when sentiment abruptly shifts.

For traders betting heavily on the AI boom through leveraged ETFs, the session served as a reminder that in the semiconductor market, momentum can reverse just as fast as it builds.

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is best known as an electric vehicle company, but that narrative is shifting with renewed focus on FSD, robotaxis and the Optimus humanoid robot.

One analyst thinks buying Tesla stock today could get Optimus exposure for “free” based on the sum-of-the-parts.

       • Tesla shares are retreating from recent levels. What’s pressuring TSLA stock?

The Tesla Analyst

Piper Sandler analyst Alexander Potter maintained an Overweight rating on Tesla stock with a price target of $500

Analyst Says Optimus Is Free With Tesla Stock

In a new investor note, Potter breaks down the value of different aspects of Tesla's businesses.

Declaring that "Tesla isn't a car company," Potter highlights the future value of Tesla's non-EV businesses.

The report includes revenue and profit estimates for 17 different product lines. Together, those 17 products make up around $400 per share in value for Tesla.

"Critically, this analysis excludes Optimus, Tesla's forthcoming humanoid robot. In other words, at $400/share, we think investors can buy Optimus for ‘free,'" Potter said.

The model from Potter assigns financial forecasts for Insurance and separates the robotaxi business from FSD, items that weren't factored into the last detailed report from Piper Sandler.

The analyst said FSD subscriber counts and robotaxi metrics will be important to show improvement in the future and to help justify a value of at least $400 per share for Tesla stock.

"Optimus and inference-as-a-service are thesis-defining products that, arguably, will be worth more than Tesla's other businesses combined. But where to begin forecasting products with the potential to fundamentally reshape labor markets and alter global GDP?"

Potter said future reports could assign a value to Optimus, but for now investors are getting this humanoid robotics segment for “free,” based on the value of other Tesla segments.

Optimus Future Valuation

Getting Optimus for “free” could be a huge value for Tesla investors, especially if the unit becomes as valuable as Tesla CEO Elon Musk believes it can be.

Musk has said that FSD and Optimus are “the biggest factors” in Tesla achieving its Master Plan Part 4.

“80% of Tesla’s value will be Optimus,” Musk tweeted previously.

"I think that's probably correct if we execute well on autonomous transport and Optimus," Musk said.

In June 2024, Musk also said Optimus could help Tesla hit a $25 trillion market capitalization.

Musk has placed a huge significance on Optimus for Tesla’s future. The Tesla CEO previously said Optimus “has the potential to be more significant than the vehicle business over time,” and separately that roughly 80 percent of Tesla’s future value will come from the robot program.

Musk believes Tesla’s future value could be worth more than $20 trillion, making Optimus a multi-trillion bet for the company.

Musk also once said, “Optimus will be an incredible surgeon,” hinting at potential medical capabilities.

The Tesla CEO has highlighted household work such as cooking and mowing lawns as tasks Optimus can complete in the future, along with helping parents with their children or taking care of the elderly.

"We're also on the cusp of something really tremendous with Optimus, which I think is likely to be or has potential to be the biggest product of all time,” Musk previously said, claiming it has five times the productivity of a person, since it can technically operate 24 hours a day while being plugged in.

Tesla is expected to begin third-party sales and high-volume production of Optimus in 2027.

For Tesla investors, the bet on Optimus could be big for the future and a good value based on Potter's sum-of-the-parts valuation.

Tesla Stock Price Action

Tesla stock trades at $430.08 on Tuesday versus a 52-week trading range of $273.21 to $498.83. Tesla stock is down 3.2% year-to-date in 2026.

Aramark Revenue Growth Accelerates

Aramark reported adjusted earnings of 49 cents per share, beating analysts' consensus estimate of 47 cents per share.
The company said foreign currency translation added about $101 million to quarterly revenue.

Food and Support Services United States revenue increased 12% from a year earlier. Food and Support Services International revenue climbed 21%.

"We're excited about our entry into the hyperscale AI data center market with the launch of Aramark Nexus where we bring proven expertise in highly complex operations and an established competitive advantage," Zillmer said.

"As we execute on our new multi-year engagement with a top global hyperscaler, this client is expected to become the largest in our portfolio. We believe there is substantial growth potential with this client and other hyperscalers, combined with the existing sales momentum occurring throughout our broader portfolio."

Cash Flow Improves, Dividend Declared

Aramark reported net cash provided by operating activities of $400 million in the quarter, up 56% from the prior-year period.

This news comes as the broader Healthcare sector is gaining 2.39%, making it the best-performing sector today, while major indices like the S&P 500 are experiencing a loss of 1.0%.

Rigel To Support VEPPANU Development

Rigel Pharmaceuticals has announced a licensing agreement to develop and commercialize VEPPANU, with plans to contribute up to $40 million towards development over the next four years.

PROTACs are part of a new class of heterobifunctional protein degraders designed to harness the body’s natural machinery to degrade, rather than inhibit, disease-causing proteins selectively.

In the Phase 3 VERITAC-2 trial of vepdegestrant in patients with estrogen receptor-positive (ER+)/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-), estrogen receptor 1 (ESR1)-mutated advanced or metastatic breast cancer (mBC), vepdegestrant was generally well tolerated and demonstrated a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in progression-free survival (PFS) as compared to fulvestrant.

The agreement allows Rigel to launch VEPPANU in the U.S. and pursue global rights, potentially leading to significant revenue growth.

FDA Approved VEPPANU In May 2026

In May 2026, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved vepdegestrant for ER+/HER2-, ESR1-mutated advanced or metastatic breast cancer.

The approval was based on data from the VERITAC-2 clinical trial showing the drug reduced the risk of disease progression or death by 43% compared to fulvestrant.

Median PFS was 5.0 months in the vepdegestrant arm and 2.1 months in the fulvestrant arm.

Overall survival was immature, with 16% of deaths in this population at the time of the PFS analysis.

RIGL Price Action: Rigel Pharmaceuticals shares were up 10.69% at $29.00 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.

BuzzFeed shares skyrocketed after Byron Allen's family office proposed a $120 million majority-stake investment, overshadowing the company's weak quarterly results.

Shares of BuzzFeed, Inc. (NASDAQ:BZFD) are trading higher by 122% on Tuesday following news of a proposed majority stake investment by Byron Allen’s family office.

This significant move comes as the broader market is experiencing a mixed day, with the Communication Services sector gaining slightly by 0.10%, while the S&P 500 is down by 0.87%.

The investment deal, which involves Allen Family Digital acquiring 40 million shares at $3.00 per share, is expected to close by the end of May 2026, subject to customary conditions.

The proposed investment will see Allen Family Digital, LLC acquire a majority stake in BuzzFeed, which includes a total purchase price of $120 million. Following this transaction, Byron Allen will take over as Chairman and CEO, while founder Jonah Peretti transitions to President of BuzzFeed AI.

Despite the positive news for BuzzFeed, the overall market sentiment remains cautious, as indicated by the declines in major indices like the Nasdaq and Russell 2000, which are down 2.17% and 2.11%, respectively.

Quarterly Results

On Monday, the company reported first quarter earnings per share of 40 cents loss, missing the analyst consensus estimate of 27 cents loss. Quarterly revenues of $31.572 million missed the Street view of $35.079 million.

Advertising revenue declined year over year, while strong growth in content revenue was offset by weakness in commerce and other revenue streams.

The company exited the quarter with cash and equivalents worth $6.846 million.

Technical Analysis

BuzzFeed’s recent surge has pushed its price significantly above key moving averages. Currently, the stock is trading 108.2% above its 20-day simple moving average (SMA) of 76 cents and 122.2% above its 50-day SMA of 71 cents. The 100-day SMA is at 80 cents, indicating that the stock is also well above this level.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is currently at 47.49, suggesting that the stock is in a neutral zone, indicating that it is neither overbought nor oversold. This positioning allows for potential further upside if momentum continues to build.

Key Resistance: $2.68 — This level represents the 52-week high and is a significant barrier for the stock.

Key Support: 54 cents — This is the 52-week low, providing a crucial floor for price action.

BuzzFeed is part of the Communication Services sector, which is currently ranked 5 out of 11 sectors. The sector’s modest gain of 0.10% contrasts sharply with BuzzFeed’s impressive rise, highlighting its strong performance relative to its peers. Over the past 30 days, the sector has only gained 0.74%, while BuzzFeed’s current movement suggests it is capitalizing on unique opportunities within the market.

Despite the sector’s mid-tier performance, BuzzFeed’s significant price increase indicates a strong reaction to company-specific news, setting it apart from the broader trends affecting the Communication Services sector.

BuzzFeed’s recent investment by Byron Allen’s family office is pivotal as it not only provides liquidity but also positions BuzzFeed for potential growth and operational focus under new leadership. This transition could lead to innovative strategies, particularly in the realm of AI, as Jonah Peretti shifts his focus to developing new technologies.

Earnings & Analyst Outlook

Investors are looking ahead to the next earnings report on August 6, 2026.

EPS Estimate: Loss of 14 cents (Up from Loss of 28 cents YoY)

Revenue Estimate: $43.11 million (Down from $46.39 million YoY)

Price Action

BZFD Stock Price Activity: BuzzFeed shares were up 122.63% at $1.62 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.

The stock’s movement comes as the Healthcare sector is currently the best-performing sector, gaining 2.43%, while the broader market is mixed, with the S&P 500 down 0.7%.

Study Meets Primary And Secondary Endpoints

The REVITALYZ study demonstrated that LUMRYZ met all primary and key secondary endpoints, showing statistically significant improvements compared to placebo in excessive daytime sleepiness and patient-reported disease severity.

Alkermes plans to file a supplemental New Drug Application with the FDA by the end of 2026 based on these positive results.

The FDA approves LUMRYZ for excessive daytime sleepiness or cataplexy in patients 7 years of age and older with narcolepsy.

LUMRYZ is not currently approved for idiopathic hypersomnia.

Pursuant to the terms of a previously disclosed settlement and license agreement, Alkermes may not market, offer for sale, take orders for, distribute, promote, or provide patient support services with respect to LUMRYZ for idiopathic hypersomnia before March 1, 2028, even if the FDA approves before that date.

ALKS Technical Analysis: Momentum And Key Support Levels

Alkermes has shown a strong upward momentum, currently trading at $37.28, which is 9.1% above its 20-day simple moving average (SMA) of $34.22. The moving average convergence divergence (MACD) is above its signal line, indicating that downside pressure is easing and momentum is improving relative to the prior downswing.

Key Resistance: $36.60 — This level marks the recent 52-week high, suggesting it could act as a barrier for further upward movement.

Netflix (NFLX) stock gains 2.8% despite market weakness. Explore the technical levels, $135B content spend, and latest analyst forecasts.

On Tuesday, Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) said it spent more than $135 billion on films and television shows over the past decade, contributing over $325 billion to the global economy and supporting more than 425,000 production jobs.

Reuters reported that the streaming giant, which ended 2025 with more than 325 million paid subscribers, said non-English-language content now represents over one-third of total viewing, driven by global hits such as Squid Game and Money Heist.

The company also launched its "Netflix Effect" report, highlighting the economic, cultural and social impact of its content worldwide.

Netflix Stock Rebounds Despite Broader Market Weakness

Netflix stock is trading higher on Tuesday as buyers step in after a sharp, extended pullback that has pushed the stock into oversold territory and set up a bounce attempt.

With the Nasdaq down 1.71% while the S&P 500 has shed 0.57%, Netflix's strength looks more like a stock-specific technical rebound than a broad risk-on tape.

Technical Analysis Signals Oversold Conditions

Netflix is still in a longer-term downtrend: it's trading 6.3% below its 20-day SMA, 7.9% below its 50-day SMA, 3.3% below its 100-day SMA, and 14.9% below its 200-day SMA.

The 20-day SMA sitting below the 50-day SMA keeps the near-term trend bearish, and the death cross that formed in December 2025 (50-day below 200-day) reinforces that the bigger-picture trend has been under pressure.

Momentum is the more interesting part of the setup right now, with RSI at 28.85—an oversold reading that often signals selling pressure has become stretched.

In plain English, RSI helps gauge whether a move has gone "too far, too fast," and this level suggests the stock is trying to stabilize after February's washout (when RSI first slipped into oversold territory).

From a levels standpoint, the first area traders will watch is whether rebounds can reclaim overhead supply near the mid-$90s.

Key Resistance: $94.50 — lines up closely with the 20-day SMA/EMA zone where recent rebounds can stall

Key Support: $75.00 — sits right on the 52-week low area ($75.01), a spot where buyers previously defended the tape

Analyst Ratings And Price Forecasts

Analyst Consensus & Recent Actions: The stock carries a Buy rating with an average price forecast of $114.15. Recent analyst moves include:

Piper Sandler: Overweight (Raises forecast to $115.00) (April 17)

Oppenheimer: Outperform (Lowers forecast to $120.00) (April 17)

Barclays: Equal-Weight (Lowers forecast to $110.00) (April 17)

Netflix Price Action

NFLX Price Action: Netflix shares were up 2.80% at $87.84 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.

Alphabet's AI rally is boosting ETFs with heavy Google exposure as investors look beyond Nvidia-led chip funds toward broader AI plays.

The artificial intelligence (AI) trade may be entering a new phase, and this time, investors are looking beyond semiconductor winners toward companies that can actually monetize AI at scale.

After nearly two years of AI-driven market leadership by Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA), shares of Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) have surged into the spotlight. The Google parent is closing in on crossing Nvidia as the world’s most valuable company. Alphabet has rallied roughly 23% so far this year, outpacing Nvidia's 14% gain over the same period.

The shift is now spilling into ETFs tied to cloud computing, software, internet platforms and diversified AI exposure — signaling what some analysts are calling the "second wave" of the AI ETF trade.

From AI Builders To AI Monetizers

The first phase of the AI rally overwhelmingly favored chipmakers and infrastructure providers. Semiconductor-focused funds like VanEck Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ:SMH) and iShares Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ:SOXX) became some of the market's hottest trades as Nvidia emerged as the face of the generative AI boom.

Now, investors appear increasingly focused on firms capable of turning AI spending into sustained revenue growth across advertising, cloud services, enterprise software and autonomous driving.

Alphabet's latest quarterly results accelerated that narrative. The company reported first-quarter revenue of $110 billion, up 22% year over year, while Google Cloud revenue surged 63% to $20 billion. Operating margins remained above 36% even as Alphabet doubled capital expenditures to $35.7 billion to expand AI infrastructure.

The company's expanding AI ecosystem — spanning Gemini models, custom TPUs, YouTube, Search, Waymo and cloud security firm Wiz — has strengthened the case for broader AI-platform ETFs over pure semiconductor bets.

ETFs Riding Alphabet's AI Momentum

That dynamic is benefiting diversified technology and cloud funds with sizable Alphabet exposure.

Among the unconventional winners are

iShares US Technology ETF (NYSE:IYW) has surged nearly 19% over the past month and 17% YTD, with Alphabet (share classes A and C) representing roughly 13% of holdings.

Motley Fool 100 Index ETF (BATS:TMFC) has climbed close to 9% over the past month. The fund allocates more than 9% to Alphabet Share Class C (NASDAQ:GOOG).

Invesco Nasdaq Internet ETF (NASDAQ:PNQI), another heavy Alphabet play (with 10% weightage), has benefited from renewed enthusiasm around internet and AI-platform companies.

Cloud-focused ETFs including First Trust Cloud Computing ETF (NASDAQ:SKYY) and Global X Cloud Computing ETF (NASDAQ:CLOU) are also seeing renewed investor attention over the past month as enterprise AI adoption accelerates. Both the funds are up 15% and 20%, respectively in the past 30 days.

Why Alphabet's AI Position Looks Different

The broader shift suggests Wall Street may be rotating from "AI builders" toward "AI monetizers."

Unlike Nvidia, whose fortunes remain closely tied to AI hardware demand, Alphabet controls multiple layers of the AI stack — chips, models, cloud distribution and consumer applications — allowing it to directly integrate AI into profitable businesses.

Its diversified revenue streams also differentiate it from many AI peers. Beyond Gemini and cloud computing, Alphabet continues to benefit from resilient Search advertising, YouTube growth and the expansion of autonomous-driving unit Waymo.

Valuation Risks Still Loom

Despite the momentum, valuation concerns remain for both the stocks. Alphabet now trades around 28 times forward earnings, according to Benzinga Pro, while Nvidia's forward multiple is roughly 27x.

That raises the risk that any slowdown in AI spending, regulatory scrutiny or softer cloud demand could pressure the stock after its massive rally.

For ETF investors, however, diversified AI exposure may offer a middle ground: participation in Alphabet's AI momentum without taking on the full risk of a single-stock trade in an increasingly crowded market.

Shares of WhiteFiber Inc (NASDAQ:WYFI) are trading lower on Tuesday morning as the Nasdaq is down 2.09% while the S&P 500 has shed 0.85%. The AI infrastructure provider faces a storm of macro volatility and micro-level skepticism.

Hot Inflation Cools Market Sentiment

Broad market pressure followed Tuesday's Bureau of Labor Statistics report. April inflation climbed to 3.8%, exceeding the 3.7% forecast. The Bureau noted that the energy index rose 3.8% in April.

Pre-Earnings Jitters And Short Interest

The company is due to report its first-quarter 2026 results this Thursday. Analysts currently estimate a loss per share of 30 cents on revenue of $21.14 million. WhiteFiber has missed EPS estimates for two consecutive quarters.

Bearish bets against the stock are rising. Short interest recently climbed to 2.62 million shares, representing 23.29% of the company's float. Based on average volume, it would take 3.7 days for shorts to cover.

Critical Levels To Watch for WYFI Stock

From a trend perspective, WYFI is still extended above its key moving averages: it's trading 36% above the 20-day SMA of $17.70, 53.2% above the 50-day SMA of $15.71, and 42.4% above the 100-day SMA of $16.90.

RSI is the clearest momentum tell right now, sitting at 80.84—deep in overbought territory.

The longer-term backdrop is still bullish: the 20-day SMA is above the 50-day SMA, and the stock is up 48.40% over the past 12 months.

Key Resistance: $24

Key Support: $22

West Pharmaceutical Restores Core Systems As Investigation Continues

The investigation into the scope of the attack and impacted data remains ongoing.

The incident temporarily disrupted global operations, the company noted in an SEC filing.

The pharmaceutical packaging company said it has restored core enterprise systems, while shipping, receiving, and manufacturing activities have resumed at some sites.

Restoration work at remaining sites is still underway, and the company has not provided a timeline for full recovery.

The company said it has not yet determined the financial or operational impact of the incident.

Analyst Sees Near-Term Uncertainty

William Blair analyst on Tuesday wrote, "While the disclosure no doubt introduces near-term uncertainty regarding operations and the potential resulting financial implications, we view the company's initial response as swift and comprehensive."

Analyst Matt Larew further added, "However, given the limited visibility into the magnitude and lasting impact of the disruption, we look for further updates from the company, including confirmation of restoration at the remaining impacted sites and additional disclosure quantifying any financial impacts."

William Blair maintains a rating of Outperform for the stock, and that rating is predicated on West being a high-quality, franchise name that provides quality and dependable earnings and cash flow, a clear leadership competitive position, and access to attractive end-market trends without a single product or technology risk.

WST Price Action: West Pharmaceutical shares were down 2.02% at $315.77 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data. Over the past month, WST has gained about 25.2% versus a 8.2% rise in the S&P 500 and is up roughly 17% year-to-date compared to the index's 6.9% gain.

What Triggered Tuesday’s Chip Rout

The catalyst came from Kim Yong-beom, chief of the South Korean Presidential Policy Office and the most influential economic voice in the Lee Jae-myung administration after the president himself.

In a Facebook post late Monday, Kim argued that Korea’s strategic position in the global AI infrastructure supply chain is producing a structural boom in chipmaker profits — and that a slice of the resulting excess tax revenue should be redistributed to citizens through what he called a “national dividend” or “citizen dividend.”

He pointed to Norway’s sovereign wealth fund as a model rather than Alaska’s Permanent Fund Dividend or Andrew Yang’s universal basic income proposal.

The KOSPI, which had touched a record 7,999.67 earlier in the session and was a single point away from breaking 8,000 for the first time in history, plunged as much as 5.1% in minutes, wiping out roughly $300 billion in market capitalization. Samsung and SK Hynix led the decline.

Foreign investors dumped an estimated $3.8 billion of Korean shares in a single session.

Kim later clarified that he was referring to excess tax revenue generated by AI-era growth, not a direct windfall levy on corporate profits. A Blue House official told Bloomberg News that the remarks reflected Kim’s personal opinion and were not the subject of formal policy discussions. Samsung and SK Hynix recouped much of their early losses.

The KOSPI closed down 2.29%.

The retracement in Seoul did not save US-listed memory names. It was no longer about how much Samsung and SK Hynix would pay in Korean taxes.

It was about whether the political logic Kim had introduced — that the AI infrastructure buildout creates excess profits that belong to society — could spread.

The Bigger Question: Who Owns The AI Profits?

The AI infrastructure boom has produced extreme corporate profit concentration.

Samsung alone is on pace to post 330 trillion won ($220 billion) in operating profit this year, which would rank it second only to Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA) among the world’s most profitable companies — ahead of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL).

SK Hynix is forecast to deliver 239 trillion won in 2026 operating profit. Those numbers are an order of magnitude larger than the chipmakers’ historical baselines.

That kind of profit concentration creates political gravity.

Kim’s proposal is the first time a senior official inside a major AI-supplier economy has publicly asked the question: do these profits belong entirely to shareholders, or does the public infrastructure that enabled them entitle citizens to a share?

The episode also exposed how fast positioning has become. The DRAM ETF was already up roughly 100% in 2026 before Tuesday’s session and memory names had gone vertical.

SanDisk had surged more than 4,000% since its early-2025 spinoff debut.

When a single Facebook post can wipe out double-digit percentages from stocks priced for memory perfection, the lesson is less about Korea than about how leveraged the trade had become to the assumption that AI memory profits would flow uninterrupted to private shareholders.

First Majestic (AG) Q1 2026 revenue surged 95% to $476.7M. Adjusted earnings hit $0.31/share as silver & gold prices drove record growth.

First Majestic Silver Corp. (NYSE:AG) shares traded lower Tuesday after the company reported first-quarter 2026 results, with silver and gold production tracking toward full-year guidance.

Revenue surged 95% year over year to $476.7 million, driven by higher realized silver and gold prices, while holding back $63.6 million in bullion inventory.

The company said revenue growth was supported by a 161% increase in realized silver prices and an 81% rise in realized gold prices, along with stronger sales volumes from key mines including La Encantada, Santa Elena and Los Gatos. The quarter also included $63.6 million in silver and gold held in inventory.

Production And Costs

Silver production totaled 3.5 million ounces, down slightly from 3.7 million ounces a year earlier and representing 26% of the midpoint of the company's 2026 guidance.

Gold production fell to 34,341 ounces from 36,469 ounces in the prior-year quarter, accounting for 28% of the midpoint of full-year guidance.

Cash costs per attributable silver-equivalent ounce increased to $20.28 from $13.68 a year earlier, primarily due to lower reported silver-equivalent production.

The company said the decline in silver-equivalent ounces reflected stronger silver prices relative to other metals, reducing the silver-equivalent conversion ratio to 75:1 from 90:1 in the first quarter of 2025.

All-in sustaining costs per silver-equivalent ounce rose to $29.76 from $19.24 a year earlier, mainly due to higher cash costs, worker participation payments and sustaining development expenses tied to elevated mine development activity.

Profitability And Cash Flow Improve

Mine operating earnings climbed to $266.6 million from $63.8 million a year earlier, supported by higher metal prices and improved operating leverage, particularly at La Encantada.

Adjusted EBITDA increased 192% year over year to $320.8 million, while adjusted earnings rose to 31 cents per share from 5 cents per share in the prior-year quarter.

Free cash flow totaled $223.5 million, despite $95.5 million in tax payments, while operating cash flow before working capital and taxes rose 182% year over year to $310.6 million.

Treasury holdings increased 20% quarter over quarter to a record $1.13 billion, up from $937.7 million at the end of 2025, including $143.8 million in restricted cash.

The company also raised its quarterly dividend nearly four times to $0.0171 per share.

AG Price Action: First Majestic Silver shares were down 1.40% at $23.25 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.

Mizuho Lifts Price Forecast

Mizuho maintained an outperform rating on DraftKings on Tuesday.
Q1 Earnings Double Beat

CEO Jason Robins credited customer engagement for the growth. "We are off to a fantastic start to the year," Robins stated. Average revenue per monthly unique payer rose 21% year-over-year to $131.

That said, the stock is now back above its shorter-term baselines—about 7% above the 20-day SMA ($23.51) and 6.5% above the 50-day SMA of $23.62.

MARA Digital Inc (NASDAQ:MARA) shares are trading lower after the company reported worse-than-expected first-quarter sales results.

Earnings Snapshot

Revenue fell 18% year over year (Y/Y) to $174.6 million, missing analyst estimates of $179.15 million, according to Benzinga Pro.

The decline was mainly driven by an 18% drop in average Bitcoin prices, which reduced revenue by about $33.1 million. Lower production contributed another $2.5 million decline, while a $3.7 million decrease in other revenue reflected reduced digital asset and hosting income compared to the prior year.

The company produced 2,247 BTC at an average price of $76,288 and sold 20,880 BTC at $70,137. Total blocks won declined slightly to 653.

The company reported a record energized hashrate of 72.2 EH/s, up 33% Y/Y, as of March 31, 2026.

Profitability

Marathon Digital Holdings reported adjusted EBITDA loss of $1.0 billion, compared with a loss of $483.6 million in the prior year period.

The wider loss was primarily due to a decline in bitcoin prices, which led to a significant negative mark-to-market impact on the fair value of the company's digital asset holdings.

The Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) mining company reported an adjusted loss of 61 cents per share, beating analyst estimates for a loss of $2.15 per share.

Marathon ended the quarter with 35,303 in total Bitcoin holdings, and $2.9 billion in combined unrestricted cash and Bitcoin holdings (including pledged assets).

Key Development

Marathon Digital highlighted its Long Ridge site as a vertically integrated platform combining multiple value streams across power, compute, and infrastructure.

The site spans 1,600 acres with sub-$0.015/kWh power costs, supported by PJM interconnection and owned generation assets.

It includes a 200 MW Bitcoin mining operation generating cash flow and a 505 MW gas plant (485 MW currently saleable, rising to 505 MW in H2 2026) that is already EBITDA-positive.

Overall, the platform offers over 1 GW of potential capacity, with plans to scale up to ~600 MW of AI and critical IT load over time.

MARA Price Action: MARA Holdings shares were down 8.55% at $12.24 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.

Oklo (OKLO) shares dip 8% ahead of Q1 2026 earnings as investors lock in gains. See the latest revenue forecasts and analyst ratings.

Oklo Inc. (NYSE:OKLO) shares fell nearly 8% Tuesday ahead of the company’s first-quarter 2026 earnings report, as investors locked in gains following the stock’s massive rally over the past year.

The company is scheduled to release quarterly results after the market close on May 12, followed by a conference call. Wall Street expects a loss of 18 cents per share, while revenue is projected to rise to $239.88 million from $224.08 million a year earlier, according to Benzinga Pro.

The pullback comes after a sharp run-up in the stock, with Oklo shares soaring more than 170% over the past 12 months. Despite Tuesday’s decline, the stock remains elevated relative to key short- and medium-term moving averages, signaling continued momentum.

Oklo, Idaho National Laboratory Partnership

Separately, Oklo announced Tuesday a partnership with Battelle Energy Alliance, the management and operating contractor for Idaho National Laboratory, to use AI-enabled engineering tools to accelerate advanced reactor and fuel-system design.

The project will integrate INL’s Prometheus AI platform with Oklo’s design infrastructure to support development of Pluto, its plutonium-fueled reactor system under the DOE’s Reactor Pilot Program.

Oklo said the collaboration will streamline modeling, simulation and technical documentation workflows while keeping human oversight in place.

Technical Analysis: Momentum Versus Key Moving Averages

Over the past 12 months, Oklo has seen a remarkable increase of 170.81%. Currently, the stock is trading 8.9% above its 20-day simple moving average (SMA) of $69.78 and 24.3% above its 50-day SMA of $61.13, indicating strong short-term momentum. However, it is trading 12.2% below its 200-day SMA of $86.51, which suggests potential resistance at higher levels.

The MACD is currently above its signal line, indicating that downside pressure is easing, which may suggest improving momentum compared to the previous downswing. This could be a positive sign for investors as the stock navigates through its current price action.

Oklo Analyst Outlook

The stock carries a Buy rating with an average price forecast of $102.77. Recent analyst moves include:

HSBC: Initiated with Buy (forecast $96.00) (April 23)

Growth And Momentum Rankings Versus The Market

Below is the Benzinga Edge scorecard for Oklo, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses compared to the broader market:

Momentum: Bullish (Score: 89.01) — Stock is outperforming the broader market.

Nasdaq 100 sinks as April CPI hits 3.8%; Sandisk, Micron and Intel each lose roughly 9% while the 30-year Treasury yield breaches 5%.

U.S. equities tumbled from record highs Tuesday after a hotter-than-expected April inflation report consolidated worries that the Federal Reserve will not cut interest rates this year, with the selloff compounded by surging oil prices and a fresh leg higher in long-end Treasury yields.

Headline Consumer Price Index accelerated to 3.8% year-over-year in April from 3.3% prior, the highest reading since March 2023 and above the 3.7% consensus, driven largely by gasoline prices.

Core inflation also surprised to the upside at 2.8%, leaving the Fed widely expected to keep rates on hold throughout the year, while markets currently price in a roughly 30% probability of a 25-basis-point rate hike in December.

The 10-year Treasury yield jumped about 4 basis points to 4.46%, nearing March highs, while the 30-year yield breached the psychologically important 5.02% level and the 2-year traded near 4.0%.
